The Thaw begins

Well, we’re starting to thaw out here in the mountains, though the snow for the past couple of days has been nice. Watching people who can’t drive in snow is always good for a laugh. Unfortunately, its also beginning to melt, and this may have been our only winter this year. Still, ’tis better to have snowed and thawed, than never to have snowed at all.

In other news, we are getting ready to make an offer on a house. We’ve been eyeing it since we first started looking and we are really excited about this big step. Of course, I don’t have a clue what to offer or how to play this game. I know my agent doesn’t want a low price since it’s less money for him. It seems to me the actual buyers are the only ones involved trying to actually lower the price. The rest are trying to raise it. But I know it will all work out just like everything up til now has worked out. And this house definitely has the room for my yarn and knitting! Wooooo!

Go, Speed Knitter, Go!

I’m speeding through my knitting.  I have a new pattern I have to get typed up.  I want to rework it from my written notes one more time before I have it up.  Also, I want to sell it, so I’m going to have to get web-hosting soon.  I’m still aiming at the end of February.  And most are paid on a yearly basis, so at least once its paid, its paid.  I’m wondering if this should come out of allowance money or not.  Actually making things for the craft show has slowed a bit as I’m trying to finish another pair of Fetching for a friend.  As soon as that’s done, I get some yarn for another version of my hat, make some felted coasters, and buy some Cotlin from for some dishcloths.

House hunting has so far been very successful.  There is one that I feel God has given me a peace about.  And we are pre-approved for a home loan so its just getting to go look at it again with my knowledgeable grandfather.  Making a list of repairs and getting quotes together.  Submit offer with list of repairs/renovations.   Move.  If only it will go as smoothly as I typed it out.

Finally,  I so want to get into my own business after a day like today, but I know its just my crazy mind again, sick of the same-old routine.  I’m determined to stick with this job at least another year, and gain as many skills as I can.  If I jump full out into my job right now, I’ll fall flat on my face.

As a side note – to all my friends in Tir-y-don, I dearly miss you.  There is no barony out there to take your place.

What a weekend . . .

I’m almost glad to be back at work!  So I went to Ice Castles.  Sad to say, it was kinda a bummer.  No one really spoke to us for the first 2 hours.  We ended up leaving early and going to my mom’s on up the road.  Ate dinner with them for my mom’s and grandpa’s birthday.  That all came on the end of a very tiring week, so I ended up going to bed at probably 7:30 last night.  The first hour and half on the couch and the rest in the bed.  I’m feeling emotionally recharged now.  And I get most nights this week to catch up on cleaning and straightening.

On a knitting note, the Marsupial Reworked is halfway done.  I’m enjoying the speed at which it is going since it is going to be felted.  Big needles = speeeeed! (That last word said in a high pitched squirrel kind of voice)  Got another scarf done for the craft show and I need to design a sweet looking cable pattern for some of the felted bags I’m going to be doing.  Got some nice felting wool last Friday for these bags,  very excited about felting!

Otherwise, things are good.  I will be going house hunting this Sunday with Austin.  I hope to take some pictures.  Maybe hold a contest.  If you pick the correct house we end up buying, I’ll send you yarn, or something like that.  I’m not starting it yet but keeping it in mind.  I am hoping by the end of February to have a working shop up for you to buy knit goodies.  Please let me know of any interest in that!  Thanks!!!
