This post is coming rather late, but God literally got me out of bed to spend time with Him. I have to admit, I am still struggling with discipline. And so I read some bits here and there in the Word, and then just started praying. Because to be honest, I come on times in my life when I feel everything is in chaos, my schedule, my housework, my finances. I just sat there for a few minutes listening, and I started to think about the creation. God is a god of order. He started everything by bringing order out of chaos, and setting everything in its place.
So I read through Genesis 1, and He started speaking to me. On the first day He brought light to darkness, His wisdom and word to the chaos.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. Genesis 1:3-5 NIV
So my first step has to be disciplining myself to spend time with Him. Every day. I’ve read on numerous sites and blogs that it takes around 21 days to make a habit stick. To find discipline in this area, I plan to stick with this. If I fall down, I get back up. Until I have this down.
Then I’m guessing He’ll tell me what step 2 is.
